Lunar New Year + Valentine's Day

Chinese New Year happens to fall on Valentine's Day this year...and it is Kyan's first LNY celebration as well!

We had the reunion dinner at a coffeeshop at Tampines. I made a fuss in the midst of the dinner (as expected) and was crying and Daddy, Nai Nai and Mum had to take turns to carry me and walk about at the path outside, hoping i can fall asleep but unfortunately there wasn't much success.

Mummy bought this green (which happens to be my lucky color) polo-T for me from Fox Baby. Nai nai bought the jeans....Nice?

Daddy and Mummy wore the same shirt. Daddy bought the shirts!

I was out the whole day on the first day of CNY. Was pretty cranky during the feeding at Great Grandma's place and gotta have 4 persons entertaining and serving me (including the maid who had to perform tricks *faintz*). ..Surprisingly over at Grand aunt's place i still was laughing and playing with people. Sleep was interrupted and i had to sleep at broken intervals. It wasn't good being out the whole day at all.

Check out my new slant....

I love to put my fingers into my mouth...

I'm trying to act cool...Don't ever piss me off...

Growing up each day...

Third tooth on the bottom has popped up. Cute ain't? When he smiles, these teeth become visibly obvious.

Little boy does have his favourite words now. He always calls mamamama....don't know whether he's calling out for me anot....and um um um...and ja ja ja ja ja....just yesterday i thought i heard him call daddy or papa! He is becoming smarter each day, with new stunts and tricks. He does like to "place" his little finger into my lips too. I think it is pretty cute. He's beginning to recognise things too. Yesterday his nai nai asked him where the banana is and he turned his head to the banana!

He is like a worm, can't sit still. Carrying him is like having a wrestle match with him. Takes a lot of energy u know.

He can stand up and walk forward now (though still got "crab-walking") but hey its a new style of walking already.

Meals wise, he just tried french beans and plums. Strawberries too. There were some red patches around his eyes which occurred within a few days of testing with the new foods and i wasn't sure it was due to the beans anot, or due to his rubbing of the eyes with his bolster. But no more allergic reactions were spotted the next day so i didn't see it as a source of concern.

Lil boy just recovered from flu and cough after we brought him to see Dr Anthony Chee (PD) at Hougang last Wed 27Jan (Clinic: Anthony Baby and Child Clinic). Charge wise is a bit steep (first time consultation is $70!). He is quite similiar to Dr Teoh in terms of thinking and also have many years of experience. I asked him whether it is ok if he doesn't meet the required daily milk intake (480ml to 500ml) a day since kyan still adopts a "I hate U" attitude towards milk. Sighz. Dr Anthony says that it is ok if he doesn't drink milk as long as he eats, as eating foods is more important than milk. It is just that us Asians have been generally influenced by Westerners thinking, as westerners believed that milk is still v important and a required level has to be reached daily. Since Dr Teoh and Dr Anthony are both experienced PDs, i am now more assured after hearing this sentence being emphasised a second time (milk is not so important as compared to solids) that I have begin to take a stride backwards towards his daily milk intake.

And his feet is v long! Now two new pairs of shoes can't be worn already, and he haven't even wore it once! Duhz! These two pairs were gifts from friends...one is adidas somemore! sighz...my mil says lil prince is small in size but has big feet! Thats why he's picking up walking fast...LOL

Total refusal of bottle feeding + Milk

Kyan's appetite for milk has plunged down to its worst again.

All of us are feeling hopeless. Its back to cries and struggles of refusing to be fed...even spoon feeding seems to be a really difficult task now. Milk is just one of the problem. He is not enthusiastic about solids either. Have to entertain and play with him in an attempt to try feeding him. One person is tough. It takes two or more to feed him. He totally refused bottle already.

I see another two bottom teeth forcing their way through the gums. These two must be the culprits. On saturday night, he woke up at a freaking one hour interval causing his mummy and daddy to do the same...

We are feeling helpless and stressed. Heeeelllllppp!

Mummy is suffering from eyebags...terrible ugly eyebags...sobz.

The typical scenes...

Chinese New Year (Tiger year) is approaching very soon too and this will be the first year Kyan undertakes a new job. He will help collect ang baos so his parents can at least recoup some losses from the massive economic crisis which always hits when CNY comes.

HAHA.

Being a big boy now, he is more interactive and displays his emotions more readily, albeit still naughty of course.

There are a couple of times when you don't know how amazing and smart kids can be.

Episode1
Little prince loves to throw things onto the floor, perhaps getting the kick of seeing people bending down on their fours to pick them up. He tests our limits to see how long this can go on, as he continues with this action. Finally we got put off and decide to keep the toy away. Little prince will look at us and realises its not fun anymore, and eventually he leaves the scene in his walker.

Episode2
Little prince throws a toy down while the we feed him food or milk as he is seated in his walker. After picking it up, he throws another toy down....and another....and another....sometimes to the point he starts sweeping everything off his walker top. So we decided not to put any toys in front of him. Little prince then sees a box containing the rest of the toys on the table next to him and decide to pull the whole box towards him. If we never "save" the box on time it will topple onto the floor.

Episode3
Fed him milk and food while he's in his walker. Eventually he jumps up and down his seat throwing a tantrum when he realises his patience waning.

Episode4
Little prince can say "Um", "M" and "Maaaaaaa" now. He loves to go to the kitchen and see the lighted stove fire. When he wants biscuits which are placed on the kitchen surface, he goes "erm""erm" in a forceful attempt to ask whoever is carrying him to go towards that direction. When he wants to go out, he knows where the keys are and want to take them himself or else want someone to take the keys for him.

Boy boy will turn one year old this year! Very fast he'll be walking, running and hopping around!

Daddy and Mummy are busy with the house renovation. Very soon i'll have a new house to stay and i have my own room! *Happy*

Celebrations to welcome 2010

Some postdated photos of the CNY celebration. Location: TCC at Plaza Sing. Date: 2Jan10. Just a humble meetup with my bffs, their other 1/2 (exception of shawn) and their kiddos..plus kyan's buddies, stephy and nigel.

This is actually one of my favourite pixs. Don't Nigel and Kyan look like they are in some serious discussion? Subject of negotiation: nigel's toy

My little prince is not giving up in asking nigel to lend him the toy...but nigel apparently is more willing to lend the toy to his gf instead :P

Kyan is finally thinking he won't ever borrow the toy and decides to stare at others instead, thinking..."what should i do now?"

Looking fierce *roar*

Look at all the nice food on the table~!

The next day was nai nai's birthday celebration at Chinatown "Yan Ge" restaurant...

Cousins lookalike?

I could stand up...HIGH...high....HIGH

Another milestone.

Kyan managed to pull himself up and stand up a very long time now with support, clinging onto the edge of the playpen. He could also walked for a short distance with that support. Well done boy.

He got four grown out teeth on the top, two at the middle bottom. The tooth by the edge is starting to pop up too.

I gave him a biscuit to chew on Sunday. His expression was so cute after biting off a part of the biscuit. He would start smiling very happily as though a goal was achieved. I would compliment and say....oh so clever boy!

Soon he'll be one year old. Very fast. Sometimes i just feel its so scary to have time flying past just like that. Memories really have to be captured if not, all is lost forever.
