Major Shopping Spree

Mummy went to Robinsons and John Little@Somerset with Daddy, Grandma, Third Grandaunt and Uncle today...she finally managed to spent her $150 vouchers which were about to expire end of this month :P A great deal of baby stuffs were bought, specially for me!! With $150 and above spent at Robinsons, there is a free delivery service so the items are going to be delivered to my house this Friday.

Here are the items which were bought:-

1) Baby Liners - 100s
2) Cotton Wool (for wiping my poo poo?!)
3) Baby Detergent Powder (Solely for my clothes...i'm a little VIP!)
4) Liquid Cleanser (Washing Milk Bottles)
5) Baby Powder Twin Pack 250g

6) Baby Wash 2in1
7) Powder Case (x2) (One for the body and one for my butt butt!)
8) Pigeon Milk Bottles 150ML and 250ML
9) Silicon Pacifier (Mummy hopes i won't get to use this :-/ but bought just in case)
10) Towel Set
11) Rubber Sheet
12) Cuff Mittens/Booties
13) Baby Bear Diaper Cover (x2)
14) Baby milk bottles container
15) Baby nail clipper
16) Nappy Pins
17) Milk bottles Brush?! (Is that what to call it?)
18) Clothes for me to wear when i pop and back from hospital

Poor mummy was suffering from bad leg pains and aches during the shopping spree cos she walked and stood for too long. At the shopping centre, she was trying very desperately to find a place to sit cos her legs were so painful! Somerset was so crowded with the swarm of human beings!

Mummy is feeling so excited as the delivery date draws near! I'm actually actively moving and punching in mummy's tummy (I will surely be giving mummy strong karate kicks as i grow bigger)....Mummy has difficulty distinguishing where my head or legs are as my kicks and punches seem to be everywhere unlike previously....she is reaching the 3rd trimester next week! (currently in her 27weeks). Mummy talks to me and tries to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to me every day. She has this feeling she will spoil me rotten when i come out....good or bad?

Mummy's back and the area just below her buttocks hurts frequently now cos my weight is increasingly upon her. She finds it hard to find a good position to sleep as well...and am thinking how she could stand my weight and the influx of problems in the 3rd trimester? Only time could tell....jia you mummy!

The sicko heartburn and chest pains

ARGH!!!!!!! TERRIBLE HEARTBURN!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!

The chest pain is really killing me....i can't sleep well all night, toss and turn and had to wake up and sit!! Kun helped me to alleviate the pain but i was still facing the terrible pains while trying to fall asleep. BB prince's active kicks added to my trouble of falling asleep too.

I really don't quite know how to distinguish between heartburns and chest pains...I've called the clinic up and the nurse told me to monitor the condition and if need be, buy medication from the clinic. She mentioned could be indigestion or relaxation of the muscles....

So today i'm at home....*sobz*

Mummy's alarm clock

My little darling sometimes acts as my alarm clock these days. When i am lazing in bed when I'm suppose to wake up, he will kick and kick (like telling..."WAKE UP MUMMY!!!") and stops when i indeed have woken up....

These days i try to sleep on my left side, but he will kick and i will change my position as I am not sure whether he's feeling uncomfortable...am i squashing him? hmm.....i wish i know....

Brainstorming for Names

Coming up with names can be both fun and confusing. First there is a wide range of names to choose from, and more often at times, we are so afraid of choosing the wrong one (one that sound absolutely wierd by itself with or without the surname). And second, are we to give one english name to our boy or just leave him to choose when he grows up in the future? Baby prince's daddy was saying he leaves me to be in charge of english names since i previously mentioned i will come out with one...but i also need to come up with something that bb prince's daddy likes it doesn't it? A lot have been rejected by daddy though =( and more often at times, he comes up with funny alternative pronunciations of the name which throws it right into the dustbin.

We have thought that since our bb prince needs to have the word "FU" in his name, we shall adopt and brainstorm for an english name that starts with the alphabet "F" that coincides with my english name as well! But as i was looking through the list of boys names starting with the letter "F" seriously NONE is appealing to me. Daddy wanted to give bb prince the name Fenson but it actually invited negative comments. Fabian seems to be the one that comes to most peoples' minds at first when thinking of "F", but it doesn't sound nice to me (no offense to those whose names are Fabian =P). Or Frederick? Fred? Freddy? Felton? Felix? But i don't like any of these....sigh.....Tough case.

I love the name Dilan but my mum said it sounds like "didn't" and i felt it was a little too common. Then i came up with Reyner which my friends thought it was a bit girlie. So i decided to brainstorm for more. Tristan and Travis came to my mind. Daddy seems ok with these two names though. So i decided to ask around and see which has more votes.

According to my sister and a few others they felt Tristan could be a bit girlie but i had people telling me it does not sound girlie though. I was really having a hard time wondering if i should just adopt Tristan but since I really wanted a manly name to give to bb prince so as to avoid confusion, i decided Travis may be better and had almost 99.9% decided on it (though Jack was telling me so far the Travis he knows are not very good guys...oops :P). For a period of time i fancied not giving an english name to my bb, so kept the name Travis pending just in case the name Fu-Jun can't be used (really hope not =(...sigh)

But today i asked daddy on english names again. He said...Why not Kai-en? Kai-en is nice la! Previously daddy came up with this name but we just left it aside and pending to see if there are other better ones. Anyway i am thinking...how nice if my bb could be called Kai-en ("Wen Kai En") and direct translation to English name will be "Boon Kyan"! But since have to adopt the FU character, no choice lor =(

So tadeh! We decided that our baby prince name will be (pending the counting of strokes from the master for the chinese name)....

Wen Fu Jun, Kyan!

Meaning of the name "Kyan" - ANCIENT
KYAN has the initials of both kun and myself....Kun and Yueting (appropriate!)
(Haaa....my sister will say..."hey thats the name of my favourite student!")

I hope Kyan is not too difficult to pronounce though :-/

Whoops! Its the Holiday Season again!~

Second lesson with Mrs Wong BB yesterday. Yesterday's lesson focused on the breathing techniques during labour/delivery and explained the essentials of what to expect in the first and subsequent stages of labour, like contractions, dilations and so on. Pelvic exercises were taught. Seriously i wonder how much of these i can apply in the real life scenario. Just imagine the scene of the actual delivery. The panic and all...the pains...the screamings...haha...I doubt i can actually recall all the techniques that were taught...now its only bits and pieces here and there.

I have been experiencing shoulder and back aches more frequently. When i sleep on my side initially (as lying on the left side is better for the bb), i always ended up sleeping flat on my back. I have been experiencing more heartburns too. The feeling is terrible and i have to think of ways to ease my heartburns.

Felt giddy every now and then. Wonder if its cos of the low blood pressure again.

Its a raining and cold holiday today. Good weather to sleep. Thinking of nua-ing at home instead of going out. Christmas is coming. I will be going down to my aunt's place on 25-Dec and have a company dinner at St James (TigerLive) next thurs, 18-Dec. Kinda sian and feel out of place gg to St James with my tum tum, but hopefully not so crowded on that Thurs. Will need my colleagues to look out for me ba. And i wonder how long i will be staying there since got free pass to other clubs and so on. Three of my colleagues putting on fake eyelashes to dress up chio chio, and they psycho-ed me to do so too...saying, "c'mon mummy!!" oh well, gotta get a red outfit (to match the dress code) and then can wear it for CNY la...good oso...

Bendemeer warehouse sale

Headed down to Boon Keng baby warehouse sale at Bendemeer Road. There were a few toys, strollers, playpens, baby cots, etc selling cheap but all we got was....

One Lindam anti-colic feeding bottle bought at $9.00. There is this "thing" we could press on top of the bottle to eliminate the air bubbles to allow milk to flow more freely when the bb is drinking.

Two teats (0 to 3months) and (3 to 6months) bought at $4.00 each.

Haha! The amount we spent was even more than the transport itself. Wonder was it worthwhile to go to the sale afterall, since the sale was not a big-scale thing. But anyway, we bought something at least it was not a fruitless trip.

Clothing purchases

Went steamboat dinner with jo and bought clothes for bb prince!
3 pieces for the price of $10!!! (SunDay2000 at Suntec City)

Got a pair of blue buttoned Bob-Dog shirt (+ shorts) and the diaper cover (I'm not sure what to call it...its just a wrapping around the diaper so that it won't cause leakage) - $10
Got two rompers (costing $9.90 and $7.90 each)

SO cute lor!!! I cannot resist getting the clothes for him.

And i'm guilty of getting two pairs of shoes for myself from Novo (cos its 50% discount!). Each pair costs $20 so i got a pair of heals (yup yup i know! i'm gonna wear them after i deliver ya so i will keep it first) and a pair of flat-covered shoes.
The power of sales sales SALES!!

Gynae Appointment at 23weeks

Current weight is 47kg, which means 6kg has been gained so far. Since my last gynae visit one month ago, I have gained about 2kg, which Dr Heng commented it was a little too much. She was saying 1kg for a month is sufficient. I seriously thought it was too little as I have been trying to put on the pounds so that I could have enough fats for my breastfeeding after bb is born.

This time round, bb prince was curled up and slouching on top of the womb, looking downwards. He looked so poor thing and i was so heartache to see him fitted in this position like that. Dr Heng said she could not measure the CRL since bb was curled up. At 23 weeks+, he now weighs 548g, which Dr Heng said was a bit small below the norm. I was a little worried when she said that, but she said babies should not grow too big if not harder to deliver, hit at least 2.5kg at the end of the day can already. Well, bb prince's parents are both skinny, how big do i want the bb to be? =P good la, can at least go through normal delivery easier.

Went to the John Little Sales at expo after that.
The things there were reasonably and cheaply priced that we got a couple of things:-
1) White convertible baby cot ($299 with free 4" mattress, stroller, music mobile and 3-piece bedding set)
I wanted a white baby cot as a wooden brown one seems a bit dull. White is more livening.
2) The three-layered milk powder container ($3.90)
3) Soft ball toy ($5.90)
4) Disposable breast pads ($10)
5) Pureen baby wipes ($6)
6) 7-piece bedding set ($79)
We got a more comprehensive bedding set as 3-set is definitely not good enough. The material is so thin!

The baby cot and bedding set will be delivered in Feb (date TBC).
The picture of the baby cot and the stroller as below. We chose a blue stroller.

And just thought i'll show a picture of my tum tum at 23 weeks. Hee.

Root canal treatment completed!

Finally i completed my series of root canal treatments. My last visit to the dentist was yesterday. The dentist and nurse have been quite pleasant throughout the whole process. I guess baby prince was pretty scared of the drilling sounds and started to kick each time the dentist did the drill for me. As i couldn't speak to him, I "spoke" the words through my mind to baby..."don't worry my dear, mummy is here ya..." and started to stroke my tummy hoping he will know there is nothing to worry about and mummy is here to protect him.

I guess that my tummy is big enough to "signal" to kind souls to give up their seats for me. Through this pregnancy, i realise the ugly and beauty side of Singaporeans. I've just met one again today. Its ever so heart-warming to have met such nice people around.

I attended Mrs Wong BB's first lesson on Sunday, 30Nov. Though i was sure what she taught was beneficial, I felt it too fast for kun and me to catch up for the exercise demonstrations. She did it extremely fast! Kun said his eyes didn't leave her for a minute while she was demonstrating just to catch her every movement, but still it was difficult.

She taught us the "tai jiao" exercise like how to communicate to baby (for daddies) and how to sense whether baby likes it. There were some other exercises being taught like massaging for pregnant mothers (now daddy has no excuse for not knowing what to do...haha!), bust enhancing movements, tips on getting up correctly from a sleeping and kneeling position just to name a few. She also taught us the proper dietary requirements for mummies. Mrs Wong mentioned that pregnant mothers should not rub and stroke their tummies as it will cause fake contractions and fear of premature labour. During the whole lesson we were made to sit on floor mats. It was so tiring to sit in such a position for two hours+!

I bought my first clothing for baby prince last friday! A cute little jumper costing only $10 from amara. Really worth it. There is a picture of a chickie in front. Can't wait to let him wear that.... =D i will also buy more clothings for him still...hopefully can find good clothing bargains around.

I will get to see my baby prince tomorrow. Yay!
