Housewarming Party at Humble Little House (Part 1)

My invitation message on facebook...
==================================================================
Hey Guys!

The three lil masters of the house would like to invite all of u to come celebrate the wonderful occasion and birth of our humble new home.

For this "open house" housewarming celebration, there will be food, drinks and company that u will enjoy...

Date: Sat, 1st May (Labour Day)
Address: Blk 1A, Cantonment Road, #31-11, S(085101)
Time: 12pm to 3pm (Friends/Colleagues)
5.30pm onwards (Relatives)
===================================================================

Nowadays we are so closely "webbed" that by touch of simple buttons and fingers exercise, i manage to get my invitation contacts under one roof, all thanks to facebook. However coordination wasn't as easy as invitation. I had to sms reminders to those peeps who didn't reply me coming near the deadline.

Many thanks to all my friends and relatives who turned up that day. In fact turn up rate wasn't bad. Most actually gave me face and came on that day. Haha. Just a couple of them who couldn't turn up at the last minute.

Courtesy of photos to Eric! Didn't know he call himself..."小良"...keke...
Anyway these are wonderful pixs!

The SkyGarden on the 50th Floor

Don't the blue looks like a swimming pool?! (not though :P) Fabulous!

They have these metallic benches for rest& relax

And some pics which i stole from Eereena on fb :P Her bf took these pics on his pro cam too!

Taken from the 50th Floor

The other type of seats available on the skygarden. I call them "hard rock sofa seats"

This running track is taken on the 26th floor.

I felt so stupid. I actually didn't take photos with all my guests cos i was so bz, except this one photo which Eena's bf offered to take for us >.< SIGH!!!
I probably should have engage one photographer to do that. Silly of moi!!

Ok part two coming up next. The evening session with relatives.
Feeling really sleepy now. I shall head to bed now.
Ciaoz.

New thoughts, New home

It seems that coming online doesn't just revolve around blogging...there are tons of things to do...

Mummy has been rather addicted to online shopping its getting seriously dangerous =___='''

Having stayed at the new place for about two weeks+ already, aren't we all glad that kyan is adapting quite well to the new place, he is very much his usual self crawling round the house, screaming, shouting and going by his usual activities, albeit a smaller place than sengkang of course. But definitely much more cosier and easier, cos we have lesser housework to do! (since its a smaller house :P)

Lil boy just turned like 13months two days ago. Mummy doesn't keep track of the months as much as she had done so before boy had turned one year old. She is guilty of that. But she is sure boy is growing well and a big and cheerful boy now.

He definitely has his own set of tantrums and character that is seemingly more obvious each day =)

He has learned many words now. He knows what is the fan, the tiger, the light, the phone just to name a few. He knows who is Nai Nai, Ye Ye, Daddy, Mummy, Ma Ma (maternal grandma), Wai Gong, Jiu Jiu, Yee Yee.

And recently his favourite action is to keep shaking the head in a "YES" manner. Mummy is so scared he shakes it too hard that he will knock his head against the floor if he was in a crawling position.

His active climbing and standing means more accidents occuring every now and then. Yea, this fiesty boy sure is taking every chance to exercise his muscles to the fullest =) And oh, how i could forget that lil boy loves to throw EVERYTHING outta his playpen everytime? Daddy or one of us will usually told him firmly..."no u cannot do that, if u do that u are not getting the things back" but apparently this lil boy does not listen *insert a SIGH*

He loves to bite on his soft toys in the play pen. A few times when i shouted across to him..."KYAN! Cannot!" He will stand up in his playpen and hand the toy to me over the edge but if i don't take from him immediately after, he throws it outta the playpen (which usually happens). This boy will tip toe and sees the thrown out toy as his hands are held over the edge. He will then call out to me and points at the toy. Sometimes you don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Meals wise, his routine is now changed. Sometimes, he only has four meals instead of the usual five if he takes long nap in between. He will have Mamil Gold mixed with cereals and Pediasure as a standalone milk feed.

Just another two weeks time, there will be a housewarming where he will have plenty of jiejies, gorgors, didis and meimeis to play with that he could probably form a small mini playgroup.

That will be great =)

Happy Birthday, my grown up Boy!

I read that there are 3 sections of baby development. Taken from a reowned PD from his book, Positive Parenting - Raising Healthy Children from Birth to Three Years:

Physical (Motor)
Emotional (Social)
Mental (Intelligence)

Kyan has developed in three areas, but i would say he is still quite slow in learning how to chew. On the other hand, he is pretty adept in moving fast around the house and especially in his playpen, moving fast from one place to another.

Sometimes he can stand without support in his playpen for more than 10 seconds. He could walk and roll effortlessly in his playpen though he is still learning to walk on the hard floor.

He's crawling quite enthusiastically around the house despite the hard floor, thanks to my mum who let him did that. I thought it was a good move. He can even bend his body to see where the ball he threw has rolled into (underneath the gap below the drawers). There was once he bent too low till he hit his head against the floor and cried badly.

He has eight teeth in total, and i think there's another one coming out from behind. He loves to suck his thumb and fingers now it is a tedious task to stop him every now and then.

Changing his pampers is another headache. He hates to be changed and cries to get up. If you pin his hands down he will look and shout "HEY!" (in his baby language) at U..at the same time making noises and giving U the expression that, "HEY what are u doing?! Let go!" When u look at his expression, u don't know to laugh or to cry. Haha.

Its really a joy to see him grow up day by day, yet so ironic i wish he will still remain my precious baby forever, though i know one day it will be a fact that he will grow up and be on his way to boy and manhood. He is an individual who is learning to express his feelings, thoughts and emotions day by day.

As of 17Mar (yesterday), i hereby wish my precious boy a Happy First Birthday!!

Welcome to the next stage of your life. You have reach toddlerhood. Mummy wish for you to grow up a sensible, healthy and smart boy. You don't have to be perfect, but it is important you grow up to be a person with a true sense of well-being, being taught and preached the right virtues which i hope in future, will stay with you throughout your entire life.

One Year Advance Celebration

Seriously don't have the time to blog these days...SIGH.

The renovation has been completed on 12Mar. Now its just the packing, shifting and moving time. I guess this will just stretch all the way till end of Mar.
Lucky we did not hold Kyan's birthday celebration at the new place, as of right now its a mess in there. We held it yesterday at Yong Chun Yuan Restaurant with just kyan's grandparents, aunts, uncle and of course Kun and me. It was a simple celebration. The usual heartwarming session of singing a birthday song, clapping with joy, blowing out the one and only candle, photo taking and cutting the cake. Kyan was rather well behaved and joyful since he was surrounded by the people he knew so well.

I thought the cake looked rather cute, which we ordered from Four Leaves at Sengkang, though i would definitely agree it will taste better if it was ranked on a sweet scale down.

In the morning, we let kyan choose from a plate of stuffs just for fun. Well the first thing he picked up was the red EGG! haha~which doesn't symbolise for anything. Next is the pen and his second choice was the scissors.

*Snap* Family Photos at the restaurant. Specially love the second pix.

Our poor boy was still running a flu despite it being nearly a week already =( Just look at how much weight he has lost. Mummy too was sick, her throat finally went hoarse today.

Thanks to the grandparents for the ang baos, and the gift toys from ah yi and koo ma...!

Lunar New Year + Valentine's Day

Chinese New Year happens to fall on Valentine's Day this year...and it is Kyan's first LNY celebration as well!

We had the reunion dinner at a coffeeshop at Tampines. I made a fuss in the midst of the dinner (as expected) and was crying and Daddy, Nai Nai and Mum had to take turns to carry me and walk about at the path outside, hoping i can fall asleep but unfortunately there wasn't much success.

Mummy bought this green (which happens to be my lucky color) polo-T for me from Fox Baby. Nai nai bought the jeans....Nice?

Daddy and Mummy wore the same shirt. Daddy bought the shirts!

I was out the whole day on the first day of CNY. Was pretty cranky during the feeding at Great Grandma's place and gotta have 4 persons entertaining and serving me (including the maid who had to perform tricks *faintz*). ..Surprisingly over at Grand aunt's place i still was laughing and playing with people. Sleep was interrupted and i had to sleep at broken intervals. It wasn't good being out the whole day at all.

Check out my new slant....

I love to put my fingers into my mouth...

I'm trying to act cool...Don't ever piss me off...

Growing up each day...

Third tooth on the bottom has popped up. Cute ain't? When he smiles, these teeth become visibly obvious.

Little boy does have his favourite words now. He always calls mamamama....don't know whether he's calling out for me anot....and um um um...and ja ja ja ja ja....just yesterday i thought i heard him call daddy or papa! He is becoming smarter each day, with new stunts and tricks. He does like to "place" his little finger into my lips too. I think it is pretty cute. He's beginning to recognise things too. Yesterday his nai nai asked him where the banana is and he turned his head to the banana!

He is like a worm, can't sit still. Carrying him is like having a wrestle match with him. Takes a lot of energy u know.

He can stand up and walk forward now (though still got "crab-walking") but hey its a new style of walking already.

Meals wise, he just tried french beans and plums. Strawberries too. There were some red patches around his eyes which occurred within a few days of testing with the new foods and i wasn't sure it was due to the beans anot, or due to his rubbing of the eyes with his bolster. But no more allergic reactions were spotted the next day so i didn't see it as a source of concern.

Lil boy just recovered from flu and cough after we brought him to see Dr Anthony Chee (PD) at Hougang last Wed 27Jan (Clinic: Anthony Baby and Child Clinic). Charge wise is a bit steep (first time consultation is $70!). He is quite similiar to Dr Teoh in terms of thinking and also have many years of experience. I asked him whether it is ok if he doesn't meet the required daily milk intake (480ml to 500ml) a day since kyan still adopts a "I hate U" attitude towards milk. Sighz. Dr Anthony says that it is ok if he doesn't drink milk as long as he eats, as eating foods is more important than milk. It is just that us Asians have been generally influenced by Westerners thinking, as westerners believed that milk is still v important and a required level has to be reached daily. Since Dr Teoh and Dr Anthony are both experienced PDs, i am now more assured after hearing this sentence being emphasised a second time (milk is not so important as compared to solids) that I have begin to take a stride backwards towards his daily milk intake.

And his feet is v long! Now two new pairs of shoes can't be worn already, and he haven't even wore it once! Duhz! These two pairs were gifts from friends...one is adidas somemore! sighz...my mil says lil prince is small in size but has big feet! Thats why he's picking up walking fast...LOL
